As I have written in the initial part of my Book Sorry! We’re Closed, when I first engaged in this Health & Wellbeing at Work Industry, it shocked me how seriously the majority of IOSH and NEBOSHED trained Health & Safety Professionals took prevention of Workplace Musculoskeletal Disorders, especially through Manual Handling Risk Management. That serious level was the lowest possible.

Who am I Professionally?
My principle Profession (that supported the 2010 founding of Osteopathic Solutions Ltd) is an Osteopath. I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Osteopathy from the European School of Osteopathy.
Osteopathic Solutions Ltd provides the complete MSD Risk Management Programme through Consultancy, Bespoke Courses and Digital & Video Training options. Since 2010 I have managed our national Team of Occupational Osteopaths and Manual Handling Experts.
In 2020, I published and Trademarked DigiTrain® as well as the only Manual Handling DVD Video Box Set of its UK kind.
In 2022, I authored the Book Sorry! We’re Closed (pictured above with the Book) to support ALL Health & Safety Professionals in becoming proper Experts towards Target-Zero Workplace Musculoskeletal Disorders.
In 2025, I launched The Pain Free Podcast. A Podcast of true listening value where Guests join me from the World of Pain Prevention. Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Massage Therapists, Nutritionists, Podiatrists ... even Exoskeleton Experts ... join me to support a Pain-Free UK.
In 2025 my body … after suffering a debilitating neck disc herniation injury at the age of 26 years … gave me the physical ability again to be a practising Osteopath, helping people with #ChronicPain and #Dis-Ease
As you are reading this Blog, you are displaying the level of curiosity you need to become the best Professional version of yourself, in your chosen Industry … Health & Safety.
Let’s look at a few analogies. Firstly Rory McIlroy. If he is going to reach the top of the Golf tree again he has to be an Expert in every facet of the game. Hitting the ball long and straight with the driver; placing the ball on the green close to the flag 99.99% of the time; and holing the ball with the putter as much as possible.
For a Football Goal Keeper to play for a Team like Manchester City or Liverpool, or whatever club is at the top of the UK Premiership Football tree, the goalkeeper cannot just be remarkable at shot stopping. They are a goal keeper, this ability is default. They have to be remarkable at catching the ball from crosses and corners. They have to be remarkable with their feet, passing and long kicking. They have to be remarkable at organising their defence. They have to be in a remarkable physical shape ... et cetera.
Let’s look at an analogy of an Artist. Art has so many mediums. Watercolour. Drawing. Oil Painting. Printing. Pottery et cetera. At school, drawing was my forte. I was pretty good at Watercolour. Disastrous at Pottery. If I wanted to become an Artist in the future, which will likely happen, I will have to professionally development in ALL these mediums.
It’s like the Osteopath Profession. As a qualified Osteopath myself, we always want to improve. Whether it’s Osteopathic Manipulative Techniques or something theoretical, we definitely want the kudos in our Profession by developing our skills and knowledge base.
So, I say this to you …
''Be curious in your Profession about what you know … and what you don’t know. Be curious as to what you need to improve on.''
Before we move on to specifics how DigiTrain® can CPD you in your Health and Safety Profession … I will leave you with this … not one Health & Safety Professional I have spoken to in over 18 years, except those who have been on Osteopathic Solutions Manual Handling Courses … not one has got simple Optimal Lifting Technique right … not one. Multiple errors each time with foot position, amount of squatting, head and neck position et cetera.
