The museum itself faces the city's picturesque River Clyde which showcases the best of Glasgow (both old and new) along its docks. It is the most appealing at night time as lights from familiar names BBC, SSE Hydro & SEC buildings illuminate its waters. In terms of bars and restaurants, the areas along the river Clyde offer something for everyone and its bustling social scene make Glasgow a 'must visit' city.

Situated not too far from the Training venue, along the river Clyde, lies Glasgow Science Centre. It has lots of attractions inside its unmissable glass building to keep visitors of all ages entertained for hours, and it's free! All of the major museums and galleries in Glasgow are free. 

If you happen to be visiting the city while the weather is nice, the People’s Palace & Winter Gardens is worth viewing. Its inviting building and grounds tell the story of Glasgow and its people, while the adjacent Winter Gardens is filled with exotic palms and plants.

Your Instructor on the Manual Handling Instructor (Train the Trainer) Programme will be Robert Smith. Robert is our Edinburgh based Manual Handling Instructor and is there to train and assist you over the course period.

THE TRAINING VENUE

The Riverside Museum in Glasgow is a truly unique training venue. The training room itself is spacious with plenty of room on site to carry out both the theory and practical areas of our highly practical manual handling training courses. The training room is equipped with a variety of loads where attendees can perform best practice lifting, carrying, lowering, pushing, pulling and team handling with the guidance of their Expert Trainer Robert Smith on the training days. Having a good range of equipment to practice with fully prepares you for any loads you may come across within your industry.

For your well deserved breaks there are plentiful hot drinks and chilled water provided throughout the day. For lunch times, The Riverside Museum has a café onsite on the ground floor which serves a variety of breakfast and lunch options as well as teas and coffees. There is also an exciting range of interactive displays for you to explore on your free time with over 90 large touch screen panels full of images, memories and films exhibited, each telling fascinating stories behind Glasgow's exciting transport background.
